mvar writes to point out a report from h-online about the Red Hatkernel source controversy. From the article: "Red Hat has changedthe way it ships the source code for the Linux kernel. Previously, itwas released as a standard kernel with a collection of patches whichcould be applied to create the source code of the kernel Red Hatused. Now though, the company shipsa tarball of the source code with the patches alreadyapplied. This change, noted by Maxillian Attems andLWN.net, appears to be aimed at Oracle, who like others, repackageRed Hat's source as the basis for its Unbreakable Linux. Althoughtargeted at Oracle, the changes will make work harder fordistributions such as CentOS."http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png (http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Flinux.slashdot.org%2Fsto ry%2F11%2F03%2F04%2F1550231%2FRed-Hat-Stops-Shipping-Kernel-Changes-as-Patches%3Ffrom%3Dfb) http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png (http://twitter.com/home?status=Red+Hat+Stops+Shipping+Kernel+Changes+ as+Patches%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FdXPOFa)
