An anonymous reader writes "Romero is willing to give Ouya the benefit of the doubt, but he sees it filling a niche for neither gamers nor developers. 'I think it's cool that they're making a platform, but it's not really the answer that's coming from Apple about the next generation of consoles. Developers really want to invoke the spirit of the Apple II, Android isn't the operating system with which to do it,' Romero said. 'There are two platforms: [iOS] makes money [and] is still very programmable, like the Apple II, and then the other is Android, which is a piracy platform, and you're not doing anything new with it.'"http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png (http://twitter.com/home?status=John+Romero's+Doomy+View+On+Android+an d+Ouya%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FO6Q0QA)http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png (http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgames.slashdot.org%2Fsto ry%2F12%2F07%2F28%2F2030206%2Fjohn-romeros-doomy-view-on-android-and-ouya%3Futm_source%3Dslashdot%26utm_medium%3Dfacebo ok)http://www.gstatic.com/images/icons/gplus-16.png (http://plus.google.com/share?url=http://games.slashdot.org/story/12/07/28/2030206/john-romeros-doomy-view-on-android-and-ouya?utm_source=slashdot&utm_medium=googleplus)
