Default Oracle Restricts Access To Sun Firmware Downloads

boer lee writes with the news that you can expect trouble in downloading firmware updates for your Sun server if you purchased it before March 16, 2010. "In a somewhat surprising move (and without any notification to customers), Oracle shut down public access to firmware downloads. I learned this the hard way when I contacted Oracle customer service almost two weeks ago. Yes, it took 13 days for me to get access to the firmware download for systems under the standard warranty (i.e. less than a year old)."pa href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.slashdot.org% 2Fstory%2F10%2F05%2F04%2F203229%2FOracle-Restricts-Access-To-Sun-Firmware-Downloads" target="_blank" title="Share on Facebook"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png"/a a href="http://twitter.com/home?status=Oracle+Restricts+Access+To+Sun+Firmwar e+Downloads%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F9gaPXL" target="_blank" title="Share on Twitter"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png"/a/ppa href="http://developers.slashdot.org/story/10/05/04/203229/Oracle-Restricts-Access-To-Sun-Firmware-Downloads?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./p pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/nDDXPU1arxc7GSNW6oCzE7ujLAM/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/nDDXPU1arxc7GSNW6oCzE7ujLAM/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/nDDXPU1arxc7GSNW6oCzE7ujLAM/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/nDDXPU1arxc7GSNW6oCzE7ujLAM/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/YlJkOo_vkwU" height="1" width="1"/
