Default Checking For GPL Compliance, When the Code Is Embedded

Excerpting from ComputerWorld UK, ChiefMonkeyGrinder writes with word of what sounds like a very cool tool: "Open source software is everywhere these days. In particular, Linux is being used increasingly to power embedded systems of all kinds. That's good, but it's also a challenge, because the free software used in such products may not always be compliant with all the licences it is released under, notably the GNU GPL. For companies that sell such embedded systems using open source, it can be hard even finding out what exactly is inside, let alone whether it is compliant. Enter the new Binary Analysis Tool."pa href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fhardware.slashdot.org%2F story%2F10%2F04%2F17%2F0122202%2FChecking-For-GPL-Compliance-When-the-Code-Is-Embedded" target="_blank" title="Share on Facebook"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png"/a a href="http://twitter.com/home?status=Checking+For+GPL+Compliance%2C+When+th e+Code+Is+Embedded%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FcPP1vO " target="_blank" title="Share on Twitter"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png"/a/ppa href="http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/10/04/17/0122202/Checking-For-GPL-Compliance-When-the-Code-Is-Embedded?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./ppa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/gws13ssNRSNITi9dLYLqgETADSA/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/gws13ssNRSNITi9dLYLqgETADSA/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/gws13ssNRSNITi9dLYLqgETADSA/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/gws13ssNRSNITi9dLYLqgETADSA/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/-uaxJ8TF-Tc" height="1" width="1"/
