Default Problems with progress bar on IE

Hi

We're using your component to create a naviagation menu that is included in every page on our site. The menu spans several sublevels and we found a problem:

When we click one of the links in a sub-menu that references a slow loading page, and we move the mouse out of the menu, IE shows the progress bar running and completing. However, the page itself hasn't loaded yet...and it can go up to several seconds until the page finally shows up while the user is kept in the dark regarding progress.

This is causing usability problems because sometimes the users assume that the link is simply not doing anything.

If we keep the mouse pointer on top of the link then the progress bar works correctly and only gets to 100% when the page actually appears.

I know you are not responsible for maintaining the progress bar (that's stricktly IE) but I have a feeling that this behaviour is caused by the events fired on mouseout or similar.

Have you seen this problem and do you have any information on how to workaround it?

Thank you

Could you post an URL to the site that you are describing?

Thanks

No, sorry. The website is a home-banking system and it's currently on development stage. I don't have a public Url to direct you to.

I tested this out on a sample menu (with about 100 items, and 5 sub items for each menu) and I think the problem is more related to the rendering engine in IE than anything else. Is it a slow loading page because of a lot of HTML content? If so, it might be IE rendering the page slowly that's causing the delay.
